Photographing Amy and Jason’s wedding at Powerscourt Hotel in County Wicklow was an incredible experience. The venue is breathtaking, with stunning views and beautiful surroundings that made every photograph special. On the morning of the wedding, Marta and I split up to cover the preparations: Marta went to Amy’s house, while I went to the hotel where Jason, the groom, was staying. Jason is American, and his family travelled from the United States to be part of the celebration, which made the day even more special.
The ceremony was full of heartfelt details, including a touching moment when the priest presented the couple with a red rose, a simple yet meaningful gesture that resonated deeply. After the ceremony, we headed to Powerscourt Waterfall for romantic portraits and bridal party photographs. The waterfall and surrounding scenery created an amazing backdrop, resulting in images that captured the couple’s love and joy perfectly.
Back at Powerscourt Hotel, we started the day with a big group photograph in the hotel garden, which features a gallery allowing us to fit everyone comfortably. After that, we proceeded with family photographs, starting with close family and then moving to extended family and the bridal party. The drinks reception and speeches followed, with guests enjoying a traditional pub serving Irish beer. I stayed through to the first dance and concluded the evening with a beautiful photograph taken in the soft, fading light, capturing the magic of the venue and the day.
