Getting Ready – Two Houses Full of Emotions

The day began with both bride and groom preparing in the comfort of their family homes. Kate’s preparations were full of laughter, toasts, and heartfelt moments with her mum helping her into her dress. Meanwhile Connor was hanging out with his crew — including a quick shot outside a local pub with a bottle of whisky — capturing the joy and nervous excitement in equal measure.

Ceremony in the Church

Once Kate was ready, we headed to the church where she arrived with her father. The ceremony was intimate and beautiful — rings were exchanged, vows spoken, and the first kiss welcomed with applause. After they signed the registry, we gathered everyone for a large group photo with all their guests, creating a timeless keepsake of that special moment.

A Meaningful Stop Along the Way

On the way to the reception, Kate and Connor made a very special stop at the workplace of Kate’s parents — a small residential care home. They wanted to visit the residents and staff who meant so much to them.

It was a genuinely touching moment. Everyone was delighted to see the newlyweds and the atmosphere was incredibly warm and kind. It was one of those beautiful unscripted moments.

Arrival at County Arms Birr

After that lovely visit, we continued on to the County Arms Hotel in Birr for the reception. The hotel’s elegant interiors and beautiful gardens provided a stunning backdrop for the rest of the day.

Family Photos

One of the most memorable moments came when Kate suggested a photo in the bath in the wedding suite. Marta headed upstairs with her, and the result was a fun, stylish, and totally unique bridal portrait — one of those images that really stands out in the final gallery.

We also took time for relaxed family photographs, bridal party portraits, and group shots with parents, siblings, and close friends, keeping everything natural and enjoyable.

Speeches

The speeches were full of laughter and brilliant moments. One standout memory was when Connor received a chef’s apron from Kate’s father — a fun and very personal gift that had everyone smiling.
