The Gramophone Social
A Vintage Vibe Like No Other.
Every now and then at a wedding, I come across something really different — something I haven’t seen before — and I love sharing those ideas with couples who want to do something a bit unique.

At a recent wedding, the drinks reception had the most amazing atmosphere. There wasn’t a DJ or a speaker setup — instead, there were actual old gramophones playing vintage records. It was run by The Gramophone Social, and honestly, it completely changed the vibe in the best way.

Trevor Gyves brought a selection of real gramophones and played original records from the early 1900s to the 1950s. It wasn’t just background music — it felt like a little step back in time. The music had that warm, crackly sound, and the gramophones themselves looked incredible. Guests were stopping to take photos, chatting about it, and just soaking it all in.

It added something really memorable to the day — calm, relaxed, a bit quirky, and super stylish. Definitely not something you see every weekend!
If you’re planning your wedding and want to add something your guests will talk about (in a good way!), I’d definitely recommend checking out The Gramophone Social. You can find more about it here.
