Including Your Beloved Dog in Wedding Photos

Stealing the spotlight

As a wedding photographer, one of the best requests I get is: “Can our dog be in the photos?” My answer? Always yes! Let’s be honest—dogs are family. They’ve been there for your lazy Sundays, your big life changes, and maybe even the proposal. So having them there on your wedding day just makes sense. Whether they’re walking down the aisle with a little bowtie, stealing kisses during portraits, or just tagging along for some cute candid moments, dogs bring such a fun, heartfelt energy to the day.

Some of my favorite wedding shots ever include dogs. They add personality, joy, and sometimes a bit of hilarious unpredictability—which honestly just makes the photos even better. Plus, there’s something incredibly sweet about capturing the bond between a couple and their pup.

Thinking about including your furry friend? Go for it! Just plan ahead—bring someone to help out, pack treats, and make sure your dog has a comfy spot to chill. With a little prep, it’ll be one of the best parts of your day. Because really—what’s better than wedding photos with your best (furry) friend?
